Espresso 3 è un corso di italiano per studenti di livello B1, che include il libro dello studente e gli esercizi. Il testo è strutturato in sei unità didattiche, ognuna delle quali si concentra su specifiche intenzioni comunicative e aspetti grammaticali. La prima unità copre richieste di informazioni, espressioni di delusione, opinione, permesso, prestito, dubbio, accordo/disaccordo, introducendo il trapassato prossimo, i pronomi relativi e combinati, e il prefisso negativo "in-". La seconda unità tratta argomenti legati alla vita in città, come chiedere aiuto, lamentarsi, esprimere disapprovazione, e definire la posizione geografica, con focus sul condizionale passato e il passato remoto.
